Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum
(FtL)Rich history and culture of the Florida Seminole Indians.

Antique Car Museum (FtL)—Showcasing the private collection of Arthur Stone, the museum contains 22 Packard automobiles from 1900-1940's and special collections of automobile memorabilia.

Bass Museum of Art (M)—The museum collects, preserves, exhibits and interprets the visual arts for the residents and visitors of the City, the County and the region.

Boca Museum of Art (B)—A fine display of permanent and traveling art exhibitions, as well as a dignified setting for special events and corporate gatherings.

Bonnet House (FtL)—Visit art galleries and rooms at one of the premier historical homes in Fort Lauderdale.

Boomers Parks (FtL, B)—Family fun centers filled with rides, games, food and fun! Two locations in South Florida: Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton.

Broward Center for the Performing Arts (FtL)—
From Broadway musicals to Grammy-winning pop artists to the classic greats, the Broward Center offers something for everyone.

Buehler Planetarium (FtL)—The Buehler Planetarium & Observatory is located on a beautiful tropical garden site at Broward Community College's Central Campus in Davie, Florida. Surrounded by lovely palm trees, the planetarium was built in 1965 through the generosity of the aviation pioneer Emil Buehler.

Butterfly World, Coconut CreekButterfly World (P)—Stroll through three acres of lush tropical gardens while thousands of live, brilliantly colored butterflies soar around. Waterfalls, fish, hummingbirds, an insectarium, orchids and roses complete natural habitat.

Coral Castle (M)—Visit this awesome man-made tribute to a lost love, which took 28 years to carve from the coral ground of Florida, using nothing but homemade tools from junk parts.

Dania Beach Hurricane Rollercoaster (FtL)—South Florida's only rollercoaster (wooden), part of Boomers amusement park.

Fairchild Tropical Garden (M)—Enjoy this lush botanical garden complete with tropical rainforest, tropical fruit pavilion, bamboo and flowering tree arboretum, tranquil lakes, and garden shop.

Flagler Museum (PB)—Learn about Florida from the beginning, when Henry Flagler's railroads and luxury hotels established tourism and agriculture as the mainstays of Florida's economy.

Flamingo Gardens (FtL)—Sixty (60) acres of tropical gardens and citrus groves with tropical plants, birds of prey, a free-flight aviary, alligators, crocodiles, and pink flamingos.

Gameworks (FtL)—Located at the Oasis in Sawgrass Mills, featuring state-of-the-art games, full bar and grill. Accomodates groups from 15-2000.

Gold Coast Railroad Museum (M) —Home of the presidential railroad car "Ferdinand Magellan"; Florida East Coast Railway Steam Locomotives 113, 153, and 253; California Zephyr cars Silver Crescent and Silver Stag; the Edwin Link; 2 foot gauge; and children's railroad.

Historical Museum of Southern Florida (M)— Experience 10,000 years of South Florida history through the museums exhibits or take a historical tour of Miami.

International Game Fishing Association Hall of Fame Museum (FtL)—Supports fishing as an important recreational, economic, and social activity to be preserved and enjoyed by millions.

International Swimming Hall of Fame (FtL)—World famous pool and swimming Hall of Fame museum. Site of world championship swim and dive meets.

Jungle Queen (FtL)—Famous barbecue and shrimp dinner sightseeing cruise with variety show and all-you-can-eat dinner. Departs nightly at 7pm. from Bahia Mar Marina.

Lion Country Safari (PB)—As America’s first drive-through "cageless" zoo, Lion Country Safari has been a leader in conservation since 1967. Lion Country provides a habitat in which many endangered or threatened species live and reproduce.

(FtL)—Authentic Polynesian village with nightly Islander Revue dancers and musicians.

Miami Metrozoo (M)—Houses more than 700 wild animals in a cageless environment. Large, open-air exhibits provide the ideal setting to experience some of the world's most beautiful and endangered wildlife.

Miami Art Museum (M)—MAM collects, exhibits, presents and interprets international art, with a focus on works of the western hemisphere from the 1940s to the present.

Miami Museum of Science and Space Transit Planetarium (M)—We make science fun! Features permanent displays like the Gravity Playground and Smithsonian Expeditions and traveling exhibits.

Miami Seaquarium (M)—Home of "Lolita the Killer Whale" and "Flipper." Entertainment, shows and exhibits, including performing dolphins and sea lions.

Norton Monkey Jungle (M)—Where the humans are caged and the monkeys run wild. Home to nearly 400 primates, most running free on the 30 acre reserve.

Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens (dB)—A tranquil visit to another place and time, honoring Asian art.

Museum of Art—Fort Lauderdale (FtL)—In operation since 1958, the Museum has garnered local, national and international attention for blockbuster exhibitions.

Museum of Discovery and Science (FtL)—Fronted by the Great Gravity Clock, Florida's largest kinetic energy sculpture, the Museum of Discovery & Science is one of the best environmentally oriented museums in the state.

Museum of Art (PB)—Widely known for its distinguished permanent collections of European, American and contemporary art, photography, and Chinese art with bronzes, jades and ceramics.

Old Fort Lauderdale Village and Museum (FtL)— A place for natives, newcomers and visitors to share in Fort Lauderdale's rich and colorful past.

Palm Beach Zoo at Dreher Park (PB)—
The Palm Beach Zoo display over 600 animals on 27 tropical acres. From giant lizards to miniature monkeys, the Palm Beach Zoo is a fun-filled day for the entire family.

Parrot Jungle (M)—A lush botanical wonderland and home to over 1,100 birds and other animals with trained parrot shows. Visitors should allow at least 3 ½ hours to tour the park.

Pompano Park Harness Racing (P)—The Sunshine State's only pari mutuel harness racetrack. Open daily and nightly. FREE ADMISSION!

South Florida Museum of Natural History (FtL)—Graves Museum, featuring dinosaur fossils and replicas and artifacts representing our world's ancient past.

South Florida Science Museum (PB)—The SFSM features a planetarium, brain teasers, weather station, gem display and much, much more.

Stranahan House (FtL)—The oldest building in Broward County built in 1901, very well preserved with period furniture.

Venetian Pool, MiamiVenetian Pool (M)—Located in Coral Gardens, in 1923 this natural spring was developed into a picturesque public swimming pool surrounded by colorful gardens. Listed with the National Register of Historic Places.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens (M)—Graced by an Italian Renaissance villa built in 1916, Vizcaya portrays 400 years of European history in its architecture and furnishings.

Young at Art Children's Museum (FtL)—A unique, hands-on children's museum where kids learn and create by touching, exploring, imagining and enjoying the limitless possibilities of art.

World Chess Hall of Fame and Museum (M)—
A newcomer to the museum world, the Chess Hall of Fame features exhibits on the game and its masters. Sponsored by Excalibur Electronics, leading manufacturer of electronic chess games.

Annual Events

South Florida has it all it!
Sure, we have seductively warm weather all year long. We have "The Beach" and all that has to offer. We have hundreds of award-winning restaurants at our disposal and dozens of fun nightclubs and bars for folks of all persuasions.

We also have national sports teams in each major sport—the 2006 NBA Champions, the Miami Heat; Florida Marlins baseball; Florida Panthers hockey; and last but not least, our wonderful Miami Dolphins football.

And we also enjoy a wide variety of culture from Broadway theatre productions to musicals to music festivals, to the ballet, to festivals from the myriad of cultures that make up South Florida...
